Success for Buddle Findlay at ALB Australasian Law Awards 2008
The ALB Australasian Law Awards 2008 are the premier event for the Australian and New Zealand legal industry, recognising and celebrating the successes of the past year.
Buddle Findlay won the award for the Commercial Property & Construction Deal of the Year for its work on the Auckland Waterfront Development which Neil Russ acted on and accepted on behalf of his team.
The Auckland Waterfront Development project involves a redevelopment of over 18 hectares of Auckland prime waterfront land – an area greater in size than the current Auckland CBD. The transaction raised entirely new issues of tax law, due to the number and the nature of the parties involved. Buddle Findlay had to ensure that its advice was delivered on time and in a manner which had regard to the diverse commercial, legal and political interests of the parties involved, and the wider regional implications of a project of this nature.
