International recognition for Buddle Findlay tax team
Neil Russ, who leads the tax practice of New Zealand law firm Buddle Findlay, has been named in the international Tax Directors Handbook as one of the top 250 tax advisers in the world.
He joins a select group of just 4 New Zealanders who have been listed in the top international group in the prestigious Tax Directors Handbook www.taxdirectorshandbook.co.uk - a global guide to the leaders in tax law across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the United States.
Buddle Findlay’s tax team also achieved short-listing in 2 categories at the 4th Asian tax awards sponsored by the International Tax Review. These were:
- The New Zealand Tax Controversy Firm of the Year (an award it won in 2008), and
- The New Zealand Tax Firm of the Year.
Neil specialises in corporate and international tax issues, as well as structured transactions. In addition to his tax expertise, he has a multi-jurisdictional background in banking and capital markets transactions.
He is a member of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, International Fiscal Association, LawAsia, Taxation Institute of Australia and the New Zealand Law Society's Taxation Committee.
