Environmental alert - Submissions open for significant proposed amendments to the Crown Minerals Act

The Crown Minerals (Permitting and Crown Land) Bill makes significant amendments to the Crown Minerals Act 1991, including how permits are granted and managed, and amends the process for obtaining access to Crown land for mining-related activities.
The Bill also makes related amendments to the Conservation Act 1987, the Continental Shelf Act 1964, the Reserves Act 1977 and the Wildlife Act 1953.
Submissions on the Bill have now been called and are due by 2 November 2012
