David has broad corporate and commercial experience. His practice includes acquisitions and divestments, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, joint ventures, franchises and company law advice.
David regularly advises public sector and local government clients including Auckland Council and several of the Auckland based council controlled organisations. His work for these clients includes assisting with significant projects and with a broad range of commercial and procurement issues.
David also regularly advises a number of international companies including Philips, Chevron, Aon, De'Longhi and United Parcel Service in respect of New Zealand legal issues.
David has significant transactional experience across a range of industry sectors. Within the past year he acted for the University of Auckland on its acquisition of the Goldwater Estate and Winery, for DKSH on its acquisition of Brandlines and FNZ Brands, and for Sky Network Television on its joint venture with Television New Zealand in relation to the new Igloo business.
He has experience assisting clients in the forestry sector, and was a senior member of our team advising on the acquisition of Frucor Beverages, and on the acquisition of the Yellow Pages business.
