Jan leads the Christchurch banking and finance team and is a member of the commercial and company law team. Her experience includes acting as instructing solicitor and providing credit recovery advice to New Zealand and overseas banks and financial institutions and acting for corporates on a wide range of commercial transactions. Jan provides securities advice to trustee companies and issuers.
Jan’s recent work includes advising a number of financiers on the new credit contracts legislation, acting for Southland Building Society on its securitisation programme, advising Perpetual Trust as trustee of the Forsyth Barr Investment Funds and acting for Bank of New Zealand on the receivership of a high profile group of companies.
Jan is currently advising various financial institutions on insurance policy interpretation and material damage claims as a result of the Canterbury earthquakes.
Jan acts for charities and was a Board Member of CanTeen, the Teenage Cancer Patients Society.
