Charlotte is a member of our national property team and specialises in leasing, construction and land-related property advice.  She has been involved in the development and negotiation of a range of land contracts, leases, agency contracts, tender conditions, development and construction contracts, easements, encumbrances and Public Works Act transactions. She acts for both Government and private sector clients.

Charlotte's expertise includes:

  • Acting for National Library of New Zealand on the tendering and construction of its National Library redevelopment project
  • Acting for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Airways NZ, National Library, Colgate Palmolive, Steel & Tube, State Insurance Tower and Chevron to negotiate development agreements and anchor tenant leases of major office developments in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch
  • Acting for Contact Energy to negotiate numerous landowner agreements associated with wind farm developments including, construction and commissioning of wind farm equipment, land easements
  • Acting for Contact Energy to negotiate land rights for its suite of generation assets across New Zealand including land rights for pipeline and power cable corridors
  • Advising Contact Energy on various power station and switchyard construction agreements
  • Acting for the Ministry of Tourism to negotiate Public Works arrangements for East Taupo Arterial Highway
  • Advising the Ministry of Social development on construction agreement relating to a new carpark associated with the redevelopment of Wiri Prison
  • Advising Ernst & Young on precedent construction documents
  • Advising Electronet Services in relation to its subcontracting documentation for the construction of a switchyard
  • Advising the Laura Fergusson Trust on the construction and lease back of care facilities
  • Advising numerous DHBs on the leasing and construction of various clinics on DHB land
  • Advising Wakefield Health on general leasing and construction issues including the redevelopment of Bowen Hospital
  • Advising Landcorp Farming on numerous property and construction related transactions associated with its land portfolio
  • Advising the Crown on a range of complex property issues relating to the settlement of historical and contemporary Treaty of Waitangi claims.  Charlotte is experienced in negotiating with iwi, redress development and drafting deeds of settlement

Charlotte also advises a number of community organisations and is on the board of trustees for the Laura Fergusson Trust.
