Iris has specialist expertise in health law, professional regulation, administrative and public law. She advises District Health Boards, private health providers, professional registration authorities, insurers and statutory bodies on a wide range of health law issues.
Prior to joining Buddle Findlay, Iris worked for a large District Health Board as senior legal counsel, and was responsible for the provision of all legal services, including advising on medico-legal issues, risk management, legal compliance, regulatory processes, inquiries and investigations, governance, policy development, privacy, official information, contracting, employment, dispute resolution and litigation.
While practising in the United Kingdom, Iris acted for numerous professional regulatory bodies on a wide range of matters including registration, competence issues, health issues and professional discipline. Iris also advised the National Health Service on a wide range of matters, including contracting, employment, health and safety, policy development, funding, privacy, quality assurance, regulatory processes, risk management and complaints.
Iris is currently working towards completing a Masters in Bioethics and Health Law.
