John is a member of our health and commercial teams. He has specialist expertise in health law and the commercial aspects of healthcare. He advises District Health Boards and private healthcare providers on commercial issues and contracting arrangements, procurement, governance and specific health law issues.
Prior to joining Buddle Findlay, John was General Counsel at Waikato District Health Board and advised on its construction and building programme, electrical supply network and other high profile technology procurements. John also advised Waikato District Health Board on medico-legal, risk management and governance issues.
John has held other senior management roles in the public healthcare sector in New Zealand and Australia, including managing a major New Zealand hospital and working as Chief Operating Officer for the New Zealand Blood Service.
