Banking and financial services

Buddle Findlay has been advising banks and financial institutions for more than 100 years.  We focus on providing clear commercial advice and innovative solutions to guide lenders and borrowers through transactions of all sizes and complexity.

Overview

We act for all major banks operating in New Zealand and a number of non-bank financial institutions.  We assist borrower clients with structuring and implementation of all forms of financing.  We regularly represent international banks and financial institutions on funding and finance structures with New Zealand borrowers and counterparties.  We also act for a number of New Zealand trustee companies in appointments that range from simple unit trusts through to subordinated debt issues and complex structured finance and securitisation transactions.

Our practice covers all aspects of banking and financial services including general corporate lending and borrowing, project and infrastructure finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, securitisation and structured finance, construction and development finance, capital markets transactions (debt and equity), corporate and institutional finance, consumer finance, asset leasing, treasury and derivative products.
