Senior associate – Banking and finance

An opportunity has come up in our leading banking and finance team in Auckland that specialises in transactional banking and finance work.

You will be working with people from a range of disciplines and involved in a variety of challenging matters from inception to delivery, including drafting financing agreements and providing advice to local and international banks, financial institutions and public and private sector organisations to develop and implement commercially effective structures for financing transactions. 

You will work with partners Dan Collins, Miriam Andrews, Paul Farrugia and Peter Owles who are all experts in different areas of banking and finance law.  In this team you'll be exposed to structured finance, leverage finance, acquisition finance, mezzanine finance, project and construction finance, syndicated lending, securitisation and debt restructuring.  As a key part of a close-knit and collaborative team, you have the opportunity to work with domestic and overseas clients that spans a broad range of industry sectors including financial services, property development, energy, agriculture, oil and gas, wastewater, and telecommunications.

What matters to us

We value people who bring a different perspective, who are passionate, curious and innovative.  To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Eight or more years PQE in transactional banking and finance law
  • Experience gained from a banking team or from an in-house environment
  • An interest in mentoring and motivating junior lawyers in the team
  • An ability to run transactions (you will always have partner support).
