Senior solicitor or senior associate - Employment

Are you an ambitious employment lawyer looking to join a top-tier firm to progress your career?  Or perhaps you are returning to work next year and would be interested in a fixed-term contract position with the option of working remotely?

We have an opportunity for a senior solicitor with a minimum of four years' PQE and employment law experience to join our employment team on a full-time basis in Wellington, or for a senior solicitor or senior associate to contract with us for six months as a parental leave cover.  Workflow in the team has been consistently high all year and is expected to remain this way next year.

If you are based in another region and are interested in working from home, or if you would enjoy a hybrid home/office working arrangement then we are keen to discuss various options to suit you and the team.  What matters most is that you are supported to hit the ground running across a number of interesting and challenging matters underway, and that you thrive in our collaborative, inclusive and diverse environment.

In this role you will work with leaders in their field, Hamish Kynaston and Peter Chemis, on a variety of interesting and challenging matters across the full range of employment law issues including complex disputes, appearances, advising on restructures and redundancies, dismissals, personal grievances, collective agreements and everything in between.  You will be able to deal directly with the firm's largest clients in the tech, government, health, education, sport, banking and energy sectors.

Our culture and the focus on collaboration is the foundation of who we are.  In joining us, you will feel valued, connected and supported.  You will work in a collaborative environment where you can grow while feeling balanced in your personal and professional life.  We bring the highest quality approach to everything we do and measure our success by the exceptional experiences we provide.  Our purpose is to empower our people to be extraordinary and in turn, help our clients achieve extraordinary things.

Harri (talent attraction specialist from our people and culture team) is keen to talk with anyone interested in this opportunity – reach out to him for a confidential conversation at 09 363 0607 or at harrison.deiongh@buddlefindlay.com or connect with him on LinkedIn.

We look forward to you joining our team and being part of our success.

Together we grow, Ka tipu tahi tatau.
