Ed McGimpsey becomes a partner in the Auckland property and construction team, commencing 1 April 2026.
Ed specialises in construction, energy and infrastructure projects, acting for a range of clients including government entities and councils, sponsors, developers, contractors, subcontractors, service providers and lenders on a wide range of domestic and international projects. Ed advises clients on all stages of the project lifecycle, including procurement strategy and structuring, tendering, contract drafting and negotiation, contract administration and dispute resolution. Ed also has significant experience advising on project finance transactions.
Ed is recognised as a 'Rising Star Lawyer - Project Development' by IFLR1000 and as a 'Leading Associate - Transport' by Legal 500.
Prior to joining Buddle Findlay, Ed worked for UK magic circle law firm Slaughter and May in its London infrastructure, energy and natural resources practice.
