Today Local Government New Zealand released Local Government Funding Review, a discussion paper outlining wide ranging options for addressing current and likely future funding shortfalls in local government. The discussion paper details the findings of LGNZ's major funding review, which began in 2014.
LGNZ is seeking feedback on the options in the discussion paper by 27 March 2015. Following the consultation period, LGNZ will analyse and incorporate comments into a final local government funding review document, intended for release mid-2015.
