Buddle Findlay is proud to have advised Stevenson Aggregates on its successful substantive application under the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 – the first quarry project to receive approvals under the new consenting regime.
Stevenson Aggregates sought approvals under the Act to expand its existing operations at Drury Quarry into an adjacent pit at Sutton Block, enabling the quarry to deliver critical aggregate resources to the Auckland region for a further 50 years. This package included resource consents, an archaeological authority and a Wildlife Act 1953 approval. In its decision of 11 December 2025, the Fast-track Panel granted all approvals sought subject to conditions.
Led by Bal Matheson KC, the Buddle Findlay legal team involved partner Vanessa Evitt, senior associate Natalie Summerfield and senior solicitor Charlotte Myers.
