Buddle Findlay, a key sponsor of the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation (the Foundation), would like to congratulate all of the winners at the 54th Halberg Awards which were announced at a gala dinner on the 9 February 2017 in Auckland. The Buddle Findlay Coach of the Year Award was presented to Gordon Walker (pictured below with partners David Perry and Jennifer Caldwell) for his contribution to canoeing. Gordon successfully coached Lisa Carrington to win a gold medal in the K1 200 and a bronze in the K1 500 at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Gordon also coached Lisa to win three gold medals and a silver medal at the World Cups in 2016.
Buddle Findlay became a key sponsor of the Foundation in November 2016. The Foundation was founded by Sir Murray Halberg on the belief that all people, regardless of their ability, should have equal opportunity to enhance their lives through sport. Since 1963, the Foundation has worked hard to make Sir Murray's vision a reality for physically disabled New Zealanders.
