Buddle Findlay is delighted to have advised National Mini Storage and its shareholders on the sale of National Mini Storage Limited to Kennards Self Storage.  The sale completed 1 July 2025.

For over 30 years, National Mini Storage has been a trusted and iconic part of Auckland’s landscape - known for its high standards of service and for helping tens of thousands of people solve their space challenges.  With 13 locations across Auckland, it has set the benchmark for storage in New Zealand.  Kennards Self Storage is a family-owned private company that has grown over five decades to own 126 locations with 99,247 storage spaces across Australia and New Zealand. 

The Buddle Findlay team advising on the sale process and transaction was led by corporate partners David Thomson and Lisette Hood.  Commenting on the transaction, David Thomson said: "We were pleased to have worked closely with the shareholders, board and CEO of National Mini Storage, and with KPMG, on this transaction.   This is a significant milestone for this New Zealand grown business, and we congratulate the former owners and board on the completion of what has been a very successful sale process".

The Buddle Findlay team also included Paula Ormandy, Tony Wilkinson, Miriam Andrews, Victoria Stillwell and Tom Pilley.   KPMG New Zealand (led by Nick McKay) was the sell-side M&A advisor, with Deloitte providing tax and financial due diligence advice.
