John specialises in corporate and commercial law and in particular, commercial property. He advises on a wide range of transactions including sales and purchases, developments and subdivisions, construction, leases, and financing and security arrangements.
John acts for a number of significant Christchurch property developers and investors and has extensive experience and expertise in this regard.
John also has expertise in local government, advising Christchurch City Council and other local authorities and council-controlled trading organisations on various issues and transactions.
He acted for the Crown on a wide range of property and commercial issues arising from the Canterbury earthquakes and still deals with some legacy issues.
Having been an All Black and having played 100 games for Canterbury, John also has an interest in sports law.
