Profile

Shane has over 30 years' experience in banking, finance, structured finance (including securitisations) and securities law.  He has particular experience in advising licensed trustee companies in all areas of the corporate trustee role, including retail, wholesale, listed and unlisted debt issues, establishing and administering managed investment schemes and securitisation structures.  Shane also assisted the Trustee Corporations Association of New Zealand (now, Corporate Trustees Association) with their submissions on the Trusts Act 2019.  For three years (up to November 2021) Shane moved into the challenging world of corporate governance and the role of Company Secretary at Bank of New Zealand, during which time he qualified as a chartered company secretary.  More recently Shane has been a senior member of the Buddle Findlay team advising an offshore financier providing acquisition and development funding for numerous residential construction projects.
