Profile

Terence specialises in banking and finance, corporate and commercial, and property law.

Terence advises on a broad range of international and domestic financing transactions, and represents corporates, banks and other financial institutions.  His particular experience lies in property finance, project finance, structured finance, acquisition finance, business banking and security enforcement.  Terence has acted for banks in funding some major property developments throughout New Zealand.

Terence’s clients are based both in New Zealand and offshore (such as China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore).  He regularly advises offshore clients on the issues involved in investment structures, settling up businesses or acquiring assets in New Zealand.  Terence has extensive experience assisting overseas clients to obtain consent under the Overseas Investment Act in New Zealand.

Terence also advises on commercial property, infrastructure and developments.  He has been involved in some significant commercial and residential projects.

Terence is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and co-leads the firm's Asia practice, which focuses on providing advice to Asian organisations undertaking investments in New Zealand.
