Buddle Findlay recently acted for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in relation to the return to market procurement of All of Government (AoG) banking services. The firm played an active role in advising and assisting with all phases of the procurement process and led the negotiation process with the shortlisted respondents.
Earlier this week the New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) branch of MBIE announced the confirmation of three AoG panel providers for a range of banking services to government agencies. The three confirmed panel providers are ANZ Bank, the New Zealand branch of Citibank, and Westpac. NZGP is currently in contractual negotiations with a fourth provider, ASB Bank, and anticipates concluding these negotiations shortly. The new banking services panel will provide banking services to government agencies until 30 June 2027.
Laurence Pidcock, General Manager, NZGP, MBIE, says "The new panel – or gen 2 arrangements – offer government agencies a range of benefits, including value for money, flexible service and pricing models, robust and transparent commercial contracts, clear, consistent service levels, and high-quality support.”
Renee Stiles, partner, Buddle Findlay says "We were delighted to support MBIE in the procurement process for the new AoG banking panel and look forward to completing the final phase of the process shortly".
The team involved included Renee Stiles (partner), Andy Dysart (senior solicitor) and Kate Barber (solicitor).
