Buddle Findlay is pleased to have advised Trade Me as it takes 50% in Stuff Digital, bringing together New Zealand’s largest news website and online classifieds businesses.  Stuff Digital is the digital arm of the Stuff Group.  It publishes ThreeNews and the website stuff.co.nz which is New Zealand's most visited digital news platform.

Under the agreement, Stuff’s property section will become Trade Me Property branded, with listings, advertisements and some content shared across both platforms.  Each month stuff.co.nz reaches about 2.3 million Kiwis a month, while Trade Me reaches about 1.5 million overall, with a million visiting Trade Me property per month.

The Buddle Findlay team advising Trade Me was led by corporate partner Grant Dunn and included technology and media partner Keri Johansson, and was supported by senior associate Syavie Ghamry and solicitors Jayna Lee and Aimee Fairbairn.  Grant Dunn commented "we are delighted to have worked alongside Trade Me again on this transformative deal to bring together two of the country's biggest digital platforms, and we look forward to seeing the exciting opportunities this partnership brings to both Stuff Digital and Trade Me".
